The average pay for GPs working in Ambleside Group Practice in the last financial year was £41,502 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 5 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months
Report from Patient Participation Group March 2016
Report from the Patient Participation Group
The Patient Participation Group has now been going since 2012.
One of the main items on the agenda has been the merging of Hawkshead Medical Practice and Ambleside Health Centre and discussion has taken place regarding how this will affect patients from both surgeries. All documentation available regarding the merger was discussed at the PPG meetings beforehand. Questions raised by the group included what changes would affect the Ambleside patients and would the Grasmere Branch surgery remain open.
One of the members of the Group told us about a local transport service, Rural Wheels, which can be used to take local residents to various types of appointments, e.g. hairdressers, opticians and doctors. We were also informed of a Home Visiting Service which one of the members of the Group is involved. We have now included this in the information on the screen in the Waiting Room.
Following on from the above it was suggested if a list of activities that take place in the Parish Centre could be made available for patients. This has been completed and is available in the Waiting Room.
A list of AGE UK events is also available at the Health Centre and this was also a suggestion made by the PPG members.
It is now mandatory for GP Surgeries to make available to patients on request access to coded parts of their medical records. Two of the PPG members used the online service and reported back on the information they could view.
Following on from the Merger, a member of the Hawkshead PPG has attended an Ambleside Meeting and the Practice Manager has attended the Hawkshead PPG. Following discussion with both groups it was agreed that the groups would continue to meet as now, however any member of either group could attend either meeting and minutes from each group would be circulated to all members of both groups. It was also suggested that a joint meeting could take place around Christmas.
If anyone is interested in joining the group please contact Central Lakes Medical Group’s practice manager at the Ambleside site.
